Joe Bedard is a 2007 graduate of Xavier High School. He is the son of Tony and Marcia Bedard and has a brother, Nic, and a sister, Abby, who are also Xavier alumni.During his time at Xavier, Joe was a four-sport athlete, earning Mississippi Valley Conference All-Conference status in three sports along with first-team All-State honors as a linebacker and elite All-State punter. Joe was a catcher on the 2006 state championship baseball team and was the starting linebacker, fullback, punter and kicker on the undefeated 2006 state championship football team where Xavier competed at the Class 4A level in spite of their Class 3A enrollment. As of his induction into the Xavier Hall of Fame on January 31, 2020, the 2006 team is the smallest roster and Xavier is the smallest school to capture the Class 4A football state title. Following high school, Joe played football at Northwest Missouri State where he played on the 2009 Division II national championship team.As a coach, Joe helped Fort Osage High School in Kansas City, Missouri win the 2015 Class 5A state football title. Joe has the unique distinction of earning championship rings as a football player in high school and college as well as a coach.
