Kathy Ennis Richards graduated from LaSalle High School in 1964 and Mount Mercy College In 1968. Kathy and her husband, Dale, have two daughters, Laura (LS91) and Amanda. She was a teacher in the Cedar Rapids Schools from 1968 - 1976. From 1980- 1985 she served as Alumni Director for Mount Mercy College, increasing the number of alumni’s activities at the college and initiating programs, which utilized alumni in student career planning and placement, and in student recruiting. Kathy organized the the first national alumni phonathon on the campus in 1981, starting a tradition which continues today. In 1985, Kathy was hired to organize an annual alumni phonathon for the Regis-LaSalle Foundation, and in January of 1986 was named Alumni Director for the Foundation. She worked with alumni groups from both schools to draft constitutions and form Alumni Associations at Regis and LaSalle. In 1988 with groups of alumni, faculty, and parents, she helped to develop criteria for the formation of a Hall of Fame at both Regis and LaSalle. Kathy continued to organize alumni phonathons each year from 1985 to 1992, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for the high schools. She was a member of the LaSalle alumni board from 1993 -1997, serving as president 1994-1996.
