2006 She Loves Me - 2006

She loves me! senior Nathan Meyer said after the Dear Friend he had been writing to returned his feelings. This year's fall musical She Loves Me ran November 9, 11, and 12 in the Regis-LaSalle theatre. The production ended with a Sunday matinee instead of the Friday night performance due to the final Varsity football game at the dome
She Loves Me is a musical centered around the characters Georg played by Meyer and Amalia, played by sophomore Erin Persik. Georg and Amalia both belonged to the
lonely hearts club and worked in the same parfumerie. They despised one another, but little did they know, they had been sending anonymous love letters to each other for months. The movie You've Got Mail has a very similar plot, but is a modern version of the play using e-mail
"l chose this musical because it was made up of a smaller cast unlike last year's Once On This lsland. I've also had some experience performing in this particular musical," choral director Andrew Last said. It was a very traditional musical with elements of comedy and romance
"The musical was a great way to start the year off," Last said. "It was a good way to shocase some of the new faces that were involved in the program." A lot of hard work was put into the musical including the set, costume, and make up crews.
Senior Andy Kramer was one of the many new cast members in the musical. "This year's musical was hilarious and wouldn't change a minute of it," Kramer said. Kramer played the part of Sipos, who provided comic relief and relationship advice to Georg.
There were a lot of laughs and good times outside of the performances as well. Rehearsals were held everyday after school and made many memories. "I had an awesome time getting to know the upperclassman. They were very welcoming and l can't wait to be involved in another Xavier production," freshman Ryan Brown said.
