"While the Lights Were Out" was a hilarious and fun murder mystery centered on the murder of Lord Clive, played by senior Chris Schubert. The love stories of the suspects also play a role in the drama of the play
It began with Lord Clive's mysterious murder and the presence of all of the future suspects with an added surprise of a half-naked woman miraculously appearing over the body. The strange sequence of events is capped off with the unexpected arrival of Investigator Ben Braddock, played by junior Chase Kinney, who tries to solve the crime after discovering Lord Clive's remains.
The production was not only entertaining to the audience, but to the cast as well. "I had a ton of fun playing a role that I normally wouldn't see myself in," senior Breanna Fuemmeler, who played the role of the unidentified blonde said The cast shared many fun experiences throughout the production of the play. "The characters' accents were a difficult obstacle to overcome, but it made it all the more enjoyable," director Kim Mackey said.
The production had its highs and lows, but in the end, the work paid off. The twist ending surprised the unsuspecting audience members and the play as a whole ended the fine arts year with a bang.
