Tony Campbell was born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa before moving to Cedar Rapids in 1990, during his sophomore year in high school, where he then attended and graduated from Regis High School in 1993. During his time at Regis, Tony was an exceptional athlete on the basketball court. He stared on the varsity basketball team all three years, appearing in the State tournament each of those years – Regis finished as State runners up in 1991 and 1992. Tony is a member of the 1,000 Point Club, was selected to the 1992 State All-Tournament Team. During his senior season, Campbell averaged 21 points, 7 assists, and 3 rebounds per game. He was named a finalist for Iowa Mr. Basketball and earned All-District and All-Conference honors in addition to receiving McDonald’s All-America honorable mention.Tony went on to Luther College where he was a four-year starter. He is the 7th all-time leading scorer, is 2nd all-time in steals per game, and is in the Top 10 for all-time assists in school history at Luther. He was a two-time All-Conference performer in the Iowa Conference. After earning his degree in elementary education, Tony went on to teach and coach for the next 17 years, which included successful stops among others at Washington High School as girls’ varsity sprint coach and at Jefferson High School, serving on the varsity boys basketball coaching staff.Tony currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife and high school sweetheart, Jennifer. Together, they have four children: sons, Teyshawn, Tyger & Trez and daughter, Teeyha. Tyger is also ranked the #1 basketball player in the nation for the high school Class of 2019. Tony owns a youth basketball skills and training company in Nashville, as basketball continues to be a part of his life. He credits much of his knowledge and passion for the game to his high school coach and mentor, Mr. Dick Breitbach.
